Paper invitations

Are your invitations on paper?

Great, no need to change them. Add a QR code and we take care of the tedious part: knowing who is coming, what they eat and who needs the bus.

  1. Put the QR code on your invitation

We send it ready to print, on its own or on a card in your style.

  2. Guests reply from their phones

Who is coming, who with, which menu and any allergies. Nothing to download.

  3. It all lands in your dashboard

It updates by itself and you can export it to Excel for the caterer. No more chasing people on WhatsApp.

And if you want the full website later, you only pay the difference.

What is a QR code wedding invitation?

It is a normal paper invitation with a small code that your guests scan with their phone camera. A page opens, and in our case that page is a form to RSVP. They do not need to download anything or have an account.

QR code wedding invitations solve the usual problem: a card has little room and there is a lot to ask. You keep the paper you love and leave the heavy lifting to the phone, such as who is coming, how many guests they bring, which menu they prefer and any allergies.

What an RSVP QR code does on a wedding invitation

A QR code can lead to many places, but only one at a time. The most practical approach is to decide what you really need:

  • Collect RSVPs: the use that saves you the most work, because replies sort themselves.
  • Share all the information: if you have coaches, accommodation and a programme, the code can open a full wedding website.
  • Show how to get there: it opens the exact location, very useful when the venue has no clear address.
  • Share wedding photos: this one usually goes on the tables on the day, more than on the invitation.

How to add a QR code to your wedding invitations

  1. Have the page ready before printing. The code must already open the final form, with your names and your questions.
  2. Put it where a phone can reach it easily. A corner or the foot of the card is best, on a flat area with no folds.
  3. Give it size. It should measure at least 2 × 2 cm, with a clear margin around it. If the paper is very textured, go a little bigger.
  4. Watch the contrast. A dark code on a light background is safest. Avoid placing it over a photo or a pattern.
  5. Add a sentence. Say what happens when it is scanned and the date by which guests can reply.
  6. Test it printed. Print one sheet and scan it with two different phones before ordering the whole run.

The paper matters too. In our guide to wedding invitation paper we explain which ones work best with a QR code.

Wording to go with the QR code on your invitation

A QR code with no explanation goes unscanned, especially among older guests. Here are a few lines to copy. You will find many more in our wedding invitation wording.

If you are comfortable with a spreadsheet and do not have many guests, a free form may be enough. Our service makes sense if you want it to look good, ask the right questions and have nothing else to think about.

Static or dynamic QR code: the one that will not let you down

Hardly anyone mentions this. Many free generators create dynamic QR codes, which pass through their server. When the trial ends or you stop paying, the code can stop working, and by then it is already printed on all your invitations.

The QR code we give you is static: it points straight to your page and does not depend on any subscription. The page stays available for a year, with no fees.

How NUO’s QR code wedding invitations work

  1. You buy and fill in a short form. You tell us your details, the style you like and what you want to ask.
  2. Within 24-48 h it is ready. You receive the QR code to print, loose and also on a card in your style, for anyone who prefers not to touch the design.
  3. Your guests reply. From their phones they say if they are coming, with whom, which menu they choose, any allergies and whether they need a coach.
  4. You see it on your dashboard. It updates itself, and you export it to Excel when the caterer asks.

You can check before you decide: try the form as if you were a guest and look at the demo dashboard. Later, if you want a full website, you only pay the difference. If you are still torn between paper and phone, it helps to see what a digital wedding invitation includes, and what else you can do with RSVP for your wedding.

Frequently asked questions

How do QR code wedding invitations work?

The guest points their phone camera at the code printed on the invitation and a page opens. There they confirm they are coming, add their plus-ones, menu and allergies, and you receive the replies on a dashboard.

What size should the QR code be on a wedding invitation?

At least 2 × 2 cm, with a clear margin around it and good contrast with the background. On very textured papers, make it a little bigger and test it printed with two different phones.

Do guests have to download an app?

No. The camera on almost any modern phone recognises the code and opens the page in the browser, with nothing to install and no account to create.

What if a guest does not know how to use a QR code?

You can fill in the form for them, or also put a contact phone number on the invitation. For most people it is as easy as taking a photo.

How much does it cost to add a QR code to wedding invitations?

With NUO it costs €59 as a single payment, and includes the RSVP page, the QR code ready to print, the card in your style and the dashboard with the replies for a year. Printing the invitations is up to you.

Does the QR code expire?

The QR code we give you is static, so the code does not expire or depend on a subscription. It opens your page, which stays available for a year.

Can I make the QR code for my wedding invitation myself?

Yes, a free generator will make one, but first you need a page to link it to. Also check that it is a static QR code, because free dynamic ones can stop working when the trial ends.
